Morthond CDs: This Crying Age (91), and another album that I haven't heard yet. Wow. Empty music, held together by a metronome's pulse. Mason Jones (wouldn't he be surprised to see his name pop up in alt.rave?) said that this music sounded like "rituals of an unknown purpose are taking place nearby," and I think that about sums it up. I use this for Tarot readings and other silly pagan rituals. _Very_ ambient (it ranks right up there with Orb's "Spanish Castles In Space" for sheer emptiness). I would even go so far as to say that this is advanced ambience, because it is so spacy and empty. I had to listen to this CD ten or eleven times before I could stay awake the whole way through it. I see this as a good thing. These people aren't afraid to take their time and to give songs room to breathe.
