Nurse With Wound

     Nurse With Wound is probably one of the most underrated 
ambient/"industrial" projects in existance, as well as one of the most 
surreal.  Core member Steven Stapleton (also known for his production and 
collaborative work with Current 93, Legendary Pink Dots, Stereolab, and 
others) melds bizarre tape loops, strange and unusual instruments and 
other sound sources into a sometimes nightmarish, sometimes whimsical 
whole; recently, NWW has released albums with a more drone-oriented focus 
(Thunder Perfect Mind) and, with their most recent release, rhythmical 
parts that harken back to Chris Carter's drum machine programming for 
Throbbing Gristle.  If you're interested in the concept of sound as Dada, 
any Nurse With Wound disc would be a suitable introduction.
