Step 2 House is the brainchild of Fred Giteau and has established itself with releases by Perry & Rhodan, MK Ultra and Distributed Genitals. The latter has his second EP out in late February while trance act MK Ultra release their second EP 'Freedom' this week. The label is also moving into more experimental and textural areas with Bonze & Wizz and 'Parijatik' by Climax Absolute, the latter being pure Goa trance." (Record Mirror, januar 1995) Olivier le Castor : Lodge EP --------------------------------- "Another excellent hard trancer from France's pioneering techno label Step 2 House, this release sees Olivier le Castor's second release for the label and it's one hell of a tune. 'Lodge One' is a dark and sinister trancer, a deep underground Detroit sound via Paris. 'Lodge 2' is a deep building hard house trancer that just continues to build throughout the mix, while superb sounds and percussion take you away, throbbing bass and rattling percussion combine to produce one hell of a tune. 'Interpolis' is a well crafted slice of Detroit-style music. The final 'Lodge 3' starts with a booming kickdrum and builds up into another storming track, a pulsating bass and a minimal groove that's full of power. Another essential that's well worth chasing up" (Update, januar 1995) "I never take drugs, but just listening to this EP makes me feel like I'm on something weird. Totally dark and murky sounds taking you on an interesting journey that would clear my crowd off the floor, drive poor paranoid souls up the wall, and yet is rather appealing" (DJ Magazine, december 1994)
