Tear Garden CDs: Tired Eyes Slowly Burning (87, includes the "Center Bullet" EP), The Last Man To Fly (92), Sheila Liked The Rodeo (93) This band, a collaboration between Skinny Puppy (minus Nivek Ogre) and the Legendary Pink Dots' Edward Ka-Spel, produces both bizarre psychedelia and trancy ambience. Fans of either trance or ambient music _must_ purchase _Tired Eyes Slowly Burning_. It is gorgeous, lush music, and the groove in songs like "OO EE OO" and "The Center Bullet" will have you thinking that the songs are far too short. Even though "Coma" and "Deja Vu" veer close to Skinny Puppy's dance industrial sound, there's something about them that transcends any narrow-minded classifications. Their later work (_The Last Man To Fly_ and _Sheila Liked The Rodeo_) is also good, but is much more guitar-bass-drums oriented, and doesn't have the synthy, smooth sound of _TESB_. However, it still has its moments, particularly when the band decides to get funky ("Empathy With The Devil").
