Now that I don't work with Jason anymore I don't here much of his new stuff so getting this was great- it's a 28 track CD mixed in the same style as "Violence" or a Bombardier live PA featuring a good portion of the tracks he's released on Low Res, Addict, Hangars Liquides, etc. and also featuring some tracks that were on Violence. The CD starts out pretty industrial and even a little techno, picks up to hard jungle pace and then moves into hardcore and eventually speedcore. The standout tracks for me are Incinerator and Bleed, but those have always been favorites of mine. I'm not sure when this comes out, but if you're into Bombardier (and if you're not, you should be), you should definitely pick it up. www.lowres.com/d13 for info. -- :: atomly :: atomly@atomly.com | atomly@atdot.org | atomly@curiousnetworks.com http://www.atomly.com | http://www.mp3.com/atomly --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: darkstep-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: darkstep-help@hyperreal.org From darkstep-return-914-archive-darkstep=hyperreal.org@hyperreal.org Wed Jan 03 14:34:14 2001 Return-Path: Delivered-To: archive-darkstep@hyperreal.org Received: (qmail 24968 invoked by uid 250); 3 Jan 2001 14:34:13 -0000 Mailing-List: contact darkstep-help@hyperreal.org; run by ezmlm Precedence: bulk X-No-Archive: yes list-help: list-unsubscribe: list-post: Delivered-To: mailing list darkstep@hyperreal.org Received: (qmail 24957 invoked from network); 3 Jan 2001 14:34:13 -0000 Mime-Version: 1.0 X-Sender: Joseph_Pitassi@postoffice.brown.edu Message-Id: Date: Wed, 3 Jan 2001 09:34:09 -0500 To: Darkstep From: "Joseph_Pitassi@brown.edu" Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" ; format="flowed" Subject: [darkstep] dsl cd: a call to arms! Because NE-Rvaes does not accept HTML, this means that those of you using version 6.0 of AOL will be unable to post until they get around to fixing this (and I'm not holding my breath). I recommend against the 6.0 upgrade in general (even the 5.0 upgrade does really funky ass things to your system that are probably unsafe), but then, I don't use AOL at all (i.e., "get a real ISP"). If you must upgrade, or have already done so, please be advised that you will NOT be able to post from that account. If necessary, please get an account at any of the innumerable free-mail sites for posting, such as excite.com, yahoo.com, my-deja.com, et cetera ad nauseum. And please don't come whining to me - I didn't break it, they did. And rumor has it, they did so knowing full well that it would be a problem. I'm not opening the list up to bloat, spam, and security holes simply because a single rogue domain run by clueless corporate assholes doesn't feel like playing nice with others. If you want to complain to somebody, find the complaints or support address for AOL - maybe if enough people bitch or threaten to take their business elsewhere (which is also a good idea, BTW - real ISPs don't cost any more than AOL does) they'll finally get around to fixing it. But I'm still not holding my breath. Until that time, HTML e-mail will continue to be bounced to AOL lsubscribers, with a one bounce per day limit; i.e., if you send 3 messages from AOL on the same day that all have HTML, you will get the first one bounced back as rejeceted, and the others will be silently dropped on the floor. Thanks to Keith, a friend on another list for writting this.. Joe Pitassi From Skinner: Of the 183 memebers on the list right now, some of you can in the back of your minds see a memorey of the DSL cd. Well this never reached an end due to the fact that my life became complex :( Anyhoo. I suckerd a victim, er I mean I found a friend who is willing to restart the project and actualy follow through on this unlike myself. Joseph Pitassi is now in charge. However were going to try this from ground zero again. Since many of the people invloved last time are gone of the list. ok so what is the DSL CD? DSL = Dark Step List (duh) But it has a cute refernce to xDSL data lines. Cute name since this is a cyberworld.... anhyhoo. What is the DSL CD? Its a compilation of toons of members of the list. Toons will be selected by Mr Pitassi, Myself and a few other people on the list. How do we choose? mostly based on quality, and does it represent the lists ideals of "darkstep" music. We are looking for well produced tracks. How do you get one? well we will be selling them for production cost. CD-R + Cover + Shipping. But what if I have a CD-R and a Fast connection cant I d/l it? Yes you can. We will have the artwork and the cda's and tracklist online for those who do have the bandwidth and the faclities to burn them. So I produce how do I get you the music. Well email Joe. joseph_pitassi@brown.edu He will tell you what to do. He also will tell you what acceptiable formats he will take. If there is somone who has a format that Joe can't read I have in my studio mutiple devices and can convert media for him. We also accept MP3's but NO LESS then 128 bit please.
