Yea I was ready to buy a G4 becuse of Os X being a BSD devloper/user. The 2 reasons at the time (fall of last year) that I didn't was the fact that 1. Cubase was not ported yet and alot of the other applications I use were not and some are still not out for OS X.. Emu samplers have excellent beat munging capabilities and also the roland groove samplers are great tools for that as well. Of course you can't download a sampler from Kazaa, though ;-(, but sometimes hardware does have its advantages and emu samplers can be gotten for super cheap. Yes but the bill was created by and the D party and is being supported by a bunch of them, becuse there is a few R in the works shows that yes there are idiots on both sides. But its still a D party bill. But a point here is The D's who normally ride with the concept that they are not "facists" seem to be showing more and more over the years and now with this bill that they are really not that far differnt from the R party, if not getting worse in some aspects. Hell the reason I voted for Nadir last election and I dislike the green party was to make a statement to the D's that they are turning to crap. This bill which is also supported by a sertain D senetor in NJ who also supports the Internet Radio crap (he is a dick), has pissed me off to. Granted iam more GOP but I side with the issues more then party, but this does show that the D's have changed. -- Robert Skinner http://robertskinner.com http://blackmonolith.com My life is like a porno movie, without the sex. The recent public concern over this bill in the news should get yu all thinking. If you read the actual bill (do a search for "rave" on www.senate.gov) and then read the wording of the crackhouse laws, you'll see that there isn't much of a diference at all. Hence, the same first amendment arguments to the crackhouse law will be applicable to the rave act. In addition, not tat nowhere in the bill is "rave" adequately defined. A standard summer concert in Central Park could constitute as a rave. If the law is designed to punish the speech, it's pretty much invalid unless techno music is classified as obscene. This bill is flmisy in o many different ways that I'm not going to waste everyone's time picking it apart. Regardless, why does the press all of a sudden care? Why do we? The laws that can be used to prosecute pople for throwing drug parties are already on the books in every state. The fed doesn't need to take it up. But, such a bill will peak interests of parents, youths, and twenty-somethings and they'll probably take a good amount of time to yak about it without thinking about what ese is going on in the world. Meanwhile, the US is allowing their troops to be used as body-guards for the new government in Afghanistan and is training other such soldiers for just the purpose. Chess move? At the same time, the US has been seriously pursuing a means to go to war with Iraq. Chess move? If the military activity in Afghanistan works to secure a western friendly government, perhaps such activity will work in Iraq? And if so, Iran is squeezed right in between to western friendly and maintained pseudo-democracies. Bye-bye to the threat of Islamic fundamentalism sweeping through the mid-east. Of course, this is just a goofy theory I've been entertaining recently. But, it seems a hell of a lot more interesting and important than an empty bill proposed by congress that pretty much restates and bastardizes what many states already have on their books. Less people then normal, but enough to keep the bar happy. It was Jen Mas's 30th b-day too so I got her drunk for her set which was actually good. I am not a huge new style fan, so some of the tracks she played weren't my thing.. but her mixing.. has improved. she has gotten really well at feeling the tracks and programming record to record things that mix well... Satronica as always tore shit up with sold music, thats why I love the guy. Warchild actually didn't suck!!! =p Actually he was good too, played a bit of breakcore. and deathchant. Edgey ... of course threw down some new toons so it was good to hear something differnt. To bad he ran to the bathroom during his set, came out with parts muted and me and warchild playing Beethoven on his Keyboard :). EDGEY YOU SUCK..... I found it funny that X-Dream (caffine) came out for shots too, it was an odd night :). People got drunk, people got laid, people had fun, thats what its about be it 20 people or 60 people show up people dig it. Anyway time for a break till the next terminal torture in aug... not only is doormouse and baseck going to be there, but a bunch of MW ravers will be invading NJ for the party, it should be crazy :) Thanks to thoose who came out, and to all the talent you make the parties fun, and give me a reason to keep doing them. -- Robert Skinner http://robertskinner.com http://blackmonolith.com My life is like a porno movie, without the sex.
