I've compiled my own ATOM HEART discography using this one as a
blueprint. I've only been able to find about 24 of the items on it so far,
and whatever I do find out I update into the discography. Give me your
snail address and I'll send a copy out to you.

I've still got to get that single.

Agreed. Try EAR/Rational mail-order. I've gotten most of my stuff
from him (Dave) at very inexpensive prices. The address is:
ear@xmission.com
> Uwe Schmidt needs to relax a little -- he makes Richard H. Kirk look like

Yeah. All that bragging Richard James does about how much unreleased
stuff he has... it doesn't even compare (quality-wise as well) to the
amount of stuff Uwe has 'released'. Imagine what's still in the 'vaults'?
I can't wait for BASS and BEAUTY FORWARD. I've got SILVER SOUND 60
and the B2 discs on order right now. If you can, definitely get the
BITNIKS and the SEMIACOUSTIC nature cds.
I'll talk to you more next week.

Ok. Monday it'll be going out to Kenn.

Let's definitely keep in touch then. Do you know Mark Kolmar
<mkolmar@ccs.nslsilus.org>? He's a big LASSIGUE BENDTHAUS collector who
just found out that Uwe Schmidt does more than LB. I'm trying to help him
catch up with all of the RI stuff now.

Yeah. Try looking on http://www.hyperreal.com/music/artists/ (under
either Lassigue Bendthaus or Atom Heart, I think).

I like it all. I really dig the BITNIKS stuff the most. I really dig
the "Ex.S" cd also - still looking for "Plane". Do you guys have any of
the PORNOTANZ stuff? How about the "Engineers Love" cassette?

Actually I don't know how he found out. The way I met him is through
this message/plea he posted onto the IDM list a few weeks back:

We've been corresponding ever since. He's getting me a copy of the
"The Overload" promo 12", and I'm getting him an ONGAKU "Mihon" 12". Like
I said before, we're mainly working on completing his RI collection first
though. You ought to drop him a line pertaining to the above post. Maybe
we could all help each other out.
> yeah, i got the discography off hyperreal not too long ago. we looked at

Yeah, but it's a great start nonetheless. This discography is how I
found out that there was a lot more to Uwe Schmidt than just LB. I guess
you could say this is where my addiction stemmed from.
I've taken the entire discography, and using it as a frame, have re-
done it. I don't really know much, but from what I have/know about I've
added track listings, call-numbers, additional releases not in the
discography, made a few corrections here and there, and made it a whole lot
easier to read. It's definitely something to work on.
> i really like the Bitniks cd i heard over at todd's place. i'd like to

I got mine a month or so ago through EAR/Rational for real cheap.

Speaking of great songs (this may sound a little weird) but I love
putting on the song "Virilio" from the "Ex.S" cd while there's a big group
of people in the room... kind of like I did last night. I had a few people
over, and stuck this piece of sonic irritation right into the mix.
Everyone's response was: "Oh, that really cleared my sinuses...".
> really i do have one complaint about ex.s. too much bass! the bass
> frequencies are mastered way too high in the mix. annoying...
I can say the same for the BITNIKS cd. I dig the bass though - I
really like the distortion produced by the extremely high levels. No
matter how much you try to correct the bass, it's still distorted.
> did u ever see the lassigue interview from the mag "music from the empty
> quarter?" it was pretty interesting.
Yeah. I've got that one plus a short interview in issue #21 of a
magazine called _Atomic_. Those interviews never say enough though. And I
want to see a really good picture of Uwe Schmidt. The ones on "Second
Nature" and B2 just don't cut it. Such obscurity.

Are you on the COIL list? Me too. The above sounds amazing - I had
heard something about this before. What I heard though was more of a
collaboration-type thing than just a remix. I posted something to the COIL
list about it a while back...

Yeah. But like I said before, it's an addiction.

Mark.
Well. You said you wanted me to help you find all of the LB/ATOM
HEART stuff... well remember that message I forwarded to you about the
FLEXTONE test-pressings for sale? I got in contact with this guy and
ordered one for myself only to find out that he's also an ATOM HEART
collector.
That's only the tip of the iceberg though. Apparently, he's also
friends with two other AH collectors. These other two people live in South
Carolina and are planning on - actually, are currently - starting up a
record store/mail-order service. And, because they are AH collectors, they
will be stocking EVERYTHING they can get their hands on!
So, I called up one of the guys tonight, Todd Boozer, and talked to
him for about 45 minutes about LB/AH, and what he can get by them. He's
getting in: everything on POD, the DR. MUELLER 12", most all of the _i_
stuff, the "Globescanner" and "Orange" cds by AH, some of the ATOMU' SHINZO
releases, the "137" e.p. by BI-FACE, most all of the COEUR ATOMIQUE
releases, the D'AMMOND 12", the DATACIDE cd on POD (yeah, really), the ee
SURREAL cd (I said yes, really), all five of the MIKE McCOY 12"s, the
"Mihon" 12" on POD, a few of the SUBSEQUENCE releases, the "Secretary" 12"
by SYNTHADELIC, the "684" cd by URBAN PRIMITIVISM, and...
...I'm going to be working weekends now.
I know this may sound weird, but call him up at: 1-(803)-246-1302.
Even if he's just pulling my leg (oh what a cruel joke!), I still have to
be optimistic right? Geez, I mean he's going to fill up the hole in my
collection the size of the one in the ozone layer!
We'll see.

(the final frontier) lots of sexy low end stuff to drive around in your
