Hola.
Hey, I was wondering if anyone way down South (Nuno? Tim?) has come
across the GONZALO MARTINEZ cd single for "Pollera Colera", which features
a remix by Uwe? I'm also looking for his full-length which apparently
features a lot of tweaking and twiddling by Pink Elln. I'm very curious to
hear what these two sound like.

Is Gonzalo Marinez the ex-singer of Los Prisioneros? I've heard that
the music on his latest solo album was done mainly by Uwe and Dandy
Jack. If this is the guy you mean shouldn't be a problem finding it
here as Los Prisioneros were a Chilean group.

12 masterpieces of binary jazz between neo-be-bop,cool jazz and freestyle
abstractness as demonstrated on >spread optics< without losing the sense of
humour, not taking it all too seriously again. >Pentatonic surprise<
safely navigates through the oceans of syncopated rhythms and cool piano

without simply becoming another retro jazz recording. Roger tubesound wins
by featuring the bits and bytes of life...

EAR/Rational music has Lisa Carbon Trio - Polyester listed in his catalog:
Lisa Carbon Trio (Atom Heart) - Polyester [REPH026:fz] Rephlex $18.75 +
It looks like a recent addition; the catalog number style is one that he
recently switched to.
Check out http://www.3sheep.com/ear-rational/ for details on how to order,
etc. (It's in the L portion of the catalog.) I've been ordering with him
for over 5 years; sometimes he's a little slow, but he's always done the

Should you get the CD? If you like any of the recent RI releases, then
definitely yes.

Fer some reason ANOTHER copy of DOTS appeared at the local shop here and I

The world of Heart and Fax has been at a minimum of late..and as I
understand it the new Fax cd's are less than appeasing..so i've been lookin
around for other sourses of electroni bliss..found out interesting info
that may be of some interest... seems that Victor Sol and Dandy Jack have
teamed up fer a second XJACKS release "Double Exposure" on the April
Records label out of Denmark!! Lemme know if you see this one fer sale
anywhere!!
Speaking of Victor Sol..seems that there are two more Earcloud release
floating around Europe called "Sypohicriactic Modo" on the Self label and
"Offical Art Plug" on the Geometric Label out of Spain!! ATTENTION!! are
there any Heart members in Spain that can help me here!!
Also i found an interesting label out of germany called Rastermusic who are
putting out some phantastic electronica ..artsists such as Komet, Tol, and
Produkt...these cd's sound much akin to Victor Sol's analogue madness with
the elekro beats much akin to the relesaes of Skam!! if you have a real
audio player(if you don't I suggest you get one at realaudio.com) and visit
Rastermusic.com and take a listen to Produkt Tol and Komet....these are not
just samples...entire tracks can be heard at yer disposal.....
I hope i'm not wasting my time here cause there is some really good stuff
coming out of Europe right now..and I hate to think that some people
believe that if it's not on Rather Interesting or Fax then it's not worth
it....Check this shit out and drop me a line....

Boo.
Since this list is swingin' so much lately, I decided to muster up
another addition to the 'ol `Grocery-List'. This latest section (the next
post from me) is a listing of all of the remixes Uwe Schmidt has done for
other artists. As you will notice, there are quite a few blanks...
...any help filling them would be much appreciated. Since most all of
the folks Uwe has remixed are really obscure, I would imagine that there
are quite a few more out there that I don't know about, and thus do not
have listed. Release titles, call-numbers, formats, country of [pressing]
origin, and year of release are what I'm looking for mainly.
Incidentally, all the information included was gathered from the very
early "Lassigue Bendthaus/Atom Heart Discography V.2.4" (1994) as compiled
by Ashur <edm@netcom.com>, as well as via several of the past `Del Haze
Entertainment News' newsletters.
Anyway, I hope y'all find it handy. ;}

Crunch.
I just got (via a trade) the SEILWOLF disc, "Metastasen", with a LB
remix on it. The song is called "Beweglich Animalisch (lassigue bendthaus
mix)", and it is featured on both the European cd single for "Beweglich
Animalisch", and/or on the US full-length cd for "Metastasen". Check out
the `Grocery List' for more info.
"Metastasen" is pretty good as a whole actually. Lots of crunchy
techno-driven industrial with the token horror movie samples and German
distorto-vocals thrown in. A friend of mine [Theresa Milam] tells me she
thinks SEILWOLF sounds a lot like KLUTE or the more recent DIE KRUPPS
stuff. I'm not too into industrial much any more, but they reminds me a
lot like SWAMP TERRORISTS as well.
The LB remix is from Uwe's 1994-era style (right at the height of his
POD output). Probably done around the same time as the PRONG and SWAMP
TERRORISTS remixes, it jumps right in with the "Render"-type beats and
flanging, underlayed with a nice trancey melody. The vocals remain, but
are only brought out to a minimum - more like short sample bursts than they
had originally appeared. Very good - well worth checking out.

Um.
I know that yesterday marked the FAX label's fifth year anniversary,
and I was just wondering when Rather Interesting started up? Does anyone
here have a specific date? It'd be nice to have our own special day too.

Ta-Da!
I don't know if you guys realized this, but today marks two whole
years of existence of the ATOM HEART discussion group. This is the third
incarnation of our mailing list, and to mark that distinction maybe we
oughta change one outward aspect of it's superficialities.
Gary Hendershot <ghenders@gary-hendershot.com> had this idea:
> When the Atom Heart maillist was hosted at nicar.org, they had configured
> their list server to prepend "(mother)" at the beginning of each
> message's subject. This "flag" helped in sorting messages from different

>

> and the new hyperreal.org maillist.
I hope you don't mind me forwarding this here Gary, but Wally
<wally@nicar.org> and I thought you're idea was worth looking into. I had
actually also been thinking (a couple of months ago) that maybe something
like this should be done, but it was only a passing thought.
My idea was that since Uwe had moved to Chile, maybe the little thingy
after the `Subject:' line should read `(madre)' - which is Spanish for
`mother'. Wally was thinking that either `(mom)' or `(ah)' would be swanky
substitutes as well.
To make this whole thing a democratic process (like we originally did
when picking a list-name), I am opening up the list to any further
suggestions. This forum will last until Thursday the 29th, and then I will
post all the submitted suggestions for everyone to see and decide upon.
Votes for your favorite `(fill-in-the-blank)' will be held on Friday the
31st (after trick-or-treating of course), and then...
...it will change.
Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US! Yahoodiddleydoo! ;}

Hallo everyone.
I just updated my wantlist and my for sale/trade list, and while there is
no AH-related stuff on the stuff I don't want anymore, I have added a bunch
of RI titles to my wantlist...so I guess I'm asking for your help. :)
Wantlist:
http://www.monkey.org/~laps/wants.html
Sale/Trade list:
http://www.monkey.org/~laps/gots.html
I do have a few rarities (AFX, Orb, FAX) on my Sale/Trade list...and I am
(of course) more interested in trading for the older RI titles, so you'll
find those on the RI "A" list...I'd be interested in buying 'em if the
price was right, too.
Thanks.

How about "Nucleus" or even "Nuwecleus"?
Finally managed to get hold of a copy of Trio be Janeiro - very
fondue (with a dash of vodka). Less acid and more lounge than
previous LCT outings that I've heard. Also finally got Inoue &
Sharp "Instant Replay" - on first play it's not nearly as engaging as
I expected from that pair. Another few listens will sort it out.
I've been having one hell of a bother getting hold of recent AH/RI
material through my regular sources. Any other AHers in the UK got a
reliable source?

Me too, It look's as though RI may not be distributing to the UK
anymore, I'm not sure, but I certainly have had big trouble getting
any of the last few releases from shops they *would* have it if
is was available.
Maybe there just isn't enough of us RI buyers in the UK to
justify sending copies over here.
Thankfully, Christopher Miller on this list has helped me get some
of the new releases from over in the USA, through trading. Put out
an email on this list or the IDM/Ambient/FAX lists, I'm sure
someone will be able to help you.
Cheers,
Warren

Well, this one gets my vote for best RI artwork of 1997. Very cool.
The music? A bit scattershot; some good sequences of really twisted
electronic jounge-jazz, but some other parts where things just don't gel
and sound random. It draws on the much the same vocabulary as most recent
RI releases, but it does have it's own "stamp," so to say. It's a little
less breezy and more serious for the most part (with some whimsical
exceptions).

From the actual list the name I prefer is definatelly "madre".
but here go some comments.

(ah!) -> What does "ma" stand for ? :->
(atom) -> Perfect IMHO. Always knew him as "Atom". Only when I got on the

(ma) -> What does "ma" stand for ? :->
(madre) -> perfect, but what if he moves to brazil ? We change it to Me
or Mama ?
(mom) -> He's not my mother ! :-)
(nucleus) -> sounds like a chemistry or quantum physics list :-/
(nuwecleus) -> Too weird
(uwe) -> Also a very good idea. Something that will never change and
identifies the list.
Anyway here goes my vote; "Atom".
