I guess yes, 'cause the CD will contain all tracks from the two 12"s (I
talked to Bernd Friedmann on Friday).

But I'm still a bit uncertain about the '... 2' bit, I'll come back to
you when I know for sure.

ruta 5 is a new record label that breaks the silence of latin american
electronic music, specializing in the compilation of electronic music
produced all over the continent.

the heritage from the latin american musical styles has an obvious
influence on electronic music created in the continent, due, especially, to
its rhythmical richness. currently we find numerous musicians in the latin
american cultural environment whose original musical proposals are still
ignored or sparsely diffused. ruta 5 aims to act as a channel for new
electronic music from the spanish american world.

as a starting point we've chosen our country of birth, chile, the most
southern of the latin american continent. for this reason we have called
the first compilation "austral". the music featured in "austral" has been
created and produced in the hybrid cultural environment characteristic of
the latin american countries. tuned in to these cultural references, the
music diffused by ruta 5 vibrates with typical elements from latin american
music.

Just wanted to add that the vinyl on Hymen that I've gotten in the past is
excellent in terms of quality. Super thick with almost zero surface noise.
Also, Noise Therapy <NoiseTherapy@worldnet.att.net> will be carrying it, as
probably will most other AntZen suppliers (Malignant, Soleilmoon, Digital
Underground, Isolation Tank). Should be out round the end of May, I think.

(Looked it up, and the Snog 2xCD is the same as the Metropolis CDEPs, but
with one less track and probably better packaging. Vinyl is pretty much a
mixture of both EPs, with only one Atom Heart mix instead of two.)

Mama.

Happy Mother's Day! And... once again, I've got a giveaway for
anybody who'd like to participate.

With the release of the latest Lassigue Bendthaus album and single, I
figure someone here'd be interested in knowing what other LB stuff sounds
like. I've got a cutout copy (unopened) of the out-of-print _Render_ full-
length US cd which I'll ship out for free to anywhere in the world...

...all you have to do is e-mail me by midnight Tuesday (directly, and
NOT here), listing all of the commercially available Lassigue Bendthaus
releases. Different formats, promo versions of releases, and varying
countries of release (and re-release) aren't necessary. All I need are the
titles. Simple enough?

Sometime Wednesday I will take the names of those who entered, drop
'em in a bucket, and pick one out at random. I'll announce the winner on
this list and send it out. There's ONE catch though... the winner has to
review this disc on the mother-list. And it has to be a good one. Oh, and
you also have to do something nice for your mom.

"Angie" was a single!?? Besides "Jealous Guy", are there any plans for
another remix single from "Pop Artificielle"? I HOPE we see some remixes
for "Ashes to Ashes", "Angie", "Be Near Me", "Sunshine Superman" or "You
Are In My System"!!! I would most like to see "Ashes to Ashes" and "Angie"
in remix form, but any remixes (plus bonus tracks or b-sides) would be MOST
WELCOME (hint hint, Uwe!).

he reads mine. We email back n forth quite often. It's possible he reads
this list. I'll ask him if there's any upcomming remixes. I wouldn't be
surprised. Keep in mind he tells us that's the future has in his

Plus anyone familiar with those want to compare the differences/simarities?
Perhaps I'm too young (25?) to remember all these classics.

I'm 26 and I only recognize a few of them. Of which, I recognize the
"Angie" cover, which is completely different from the original (which is
much sparser, and more of a traditional ballad); the "Be Near Me" cover of
ABC, which is a synth-pop hit from the 80's. It sounds similar, being a
synth based song, but is obviously mutated by Herr Schmidt; The "Ashes to
Ashes" song is, again, fairly similar but has enough digital editing that
it sounds almost like an entirely new song. The "warbled piano" sound is
almost identical to the original (which I highly recommend - "Scary
Monsters" and "Low" are *essential* David Bowie albums). The other tracks
I've either not heard or not heard enough to comment. Regardless, most of
the tracks are so unbelievably processed or altered to not sound that much
like the original, in my opinion.

WOW!
Consider yourself very lucky!!!
I unfortunately cannot tell you a whole lot about it, either, except I
CAN confirm that it IS an Atom Heart project. A friend of mine has a
realease or two, and it never ceases to amaze me. I've been wanting to
get my hands on that stuff ever since I first heard it last fall.

Nice find!

Sieg ¸ber die Sonne is a project of DANDY JACK (Martin Schopf) and PINK
ELLN (Tobias Freund). Uwe is not a member of Sieg Uber die Sonne, but he
contributed some stuff to the 1 to Infinity full lenght CD. (Niko Heyduck
and Victor Sol did too)

There are two full lenght CDs entiteled SIEG UBER DIE SONNE and 1 TO
INFINITY. They also released some vinyls on Cyclotron and there is another
Maxi called ADORO REMIXES which also features a remix by Uwe. This one
definately available on Vinyl, but there seems to be a MCD, too (I haven't
seen it though).

cheers

Marcus

I've been asked to do an interview with Uwe for the Iron Feather Journal.
I've NEVER interviewed anyone:(

i was hoping you all could help me out by comming up with some questions
for Senor Coconut. I hope to NOT recreate Sean Coopers interview he did
last fall.

please send your questions in private email and when the project is all
over, I'll send you copies:)

thank you,

My question would be if he is abandoning his industrial sound as Lassigue
Bendthaus. While I liked Jealous Guy and Pop Artificelle (sp?), it sounded
more like an Atom Heart or nameless release on Rather Interesting than
Lassigue Bendthaus.

Is it just a coincedence that the name "Lassigue Bendthaus" isn't even on
the newest releases (just an "LB" in a circle). Is this the death of
Lassigue Bendthaus as we know it?

1. Is there anyone he's interested in working with who he has never had the
chance to work with?
2. What's the *truth* about Lisa Carbon? If there really is such a person,
why the low profile? And who is Pink Elln for that matter? (x-files
type music plays in background...).
3. Is there any interest in re-releasing any of the older out-of-print
material on Pod for instance?

The man named Marcus answered this question just yesterday.
Punk Illn's "real" name is Tobias Freund, and although his
output isn't as prolific as summa these bigger players, his
music is always smooth and finely honed. I believe he lives
down in Miami, where the Cosmic Trousers was mastered or some
such.

On the subject of what to ask Uwe, i'd like to know a little bit
more about his involvement with some of the native South American
musicians down there. Jorge Gonzales (sp?) and Gonzalo Martinez
are both names i see in various RI liner notes. Who are they??
Is Martinez a pop musician he struck an acquantance with or what?
These are certainly relevent questions to the Senor/Trio releases,
as these people and their musical styles had an influence on Uwe's
own habit of "violating" all those latin styles.
Also has he run into yage...? :o

I recently found myself a copy of Senor Coconut (the Japanese one w/ bonus
tracks) and I must say it is rather exceptional stuff!!! It might even be
my personal fav. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could translate that
rap that appears in Upper Mambo/Lower Funk?

It's probably too new. I'd say give it a couple more weeks to propogate,
and try your usual sources again.

This guy in Texas has the Real Intelligence (1st one) on vinyl for sale, as

I've bought from him once before and found him to be a "good trader."
