NEWS UPDATE: 24TH DECEMBER 2020
Thanks to Dario, Martina, Kaon, Richard, Richard, Michael, Stefan, Alex, Alex, Rory, Tim, Jay, John, John, Phil, Phil, Elizabeth, Gregory, Joseph, Mark, and EnoWeb's own newsbot Tom Boon in no particular order for these news items.
In January and February 2021, Angeleno Eno fans can enjoy a public screening and sound installation of A Quiet Scene, over 100 videos accompanying Roger and Brian Eno's music from Mixing Colours and its subsequent Luminous EP. The videos will be exhibited on LED screens on The Music Center's Jerry Moss Plaza in Los Angeles, in collaboration with non-profit radio station dublab from 22nd January to 21st February 2021. At the same time, Mixing Colours Expanded will be released, combining the original album and EP. Film Music 1976–2020 will also see the light of day in the good ol' U.S. of A. on 22nd January, as will a limited edition CD of Brian's soundtrack for RAMS (previously a Record Store Day exclusive vinyl LP) worldwide.
RADIO DAZE
Michael Engelbrecht's DFR Klanghorizonte show will feature an interview with Brian on 26th December during its 3:05–4:00am slice (Germany time), which will be streamable for a week afterwards. Shaun Keaveny will be hosting Brians Eno and Cox for their traditional festive pre-recorded chit-chat on 1st January 2021 from 1pm, and streamable for 30 days thereafter. Shaun normally tries to get a third Brian to take part but like most things in 2020 that couldn't happen.
RoYAL FLUSH
The Royal Academy has a piece of music by Brian playing in its Vestibule called Flowers 2018-2020, as a sort of amuse-bouche for its annual Summer Exhibition (now Winter Exhibition) – which was due to run until 3rd January 2021 but is currently closed owing to Tier 4 CoVID-19 restrictions (so maybe its season will change again, who knows?). Khnum, one of Brian's lightboxes, is also on show. The BBC made a documentary about the exhibition which includes an extract from Flowers 2018-2020, footage of Khnum, plus a short interview with Brian.

THIS CLIMATE
During 2021 the Science Museum Group will be hosting a series of Climate Talks; the discussion on 15th February will feature Brian and James Thornton discussing the work of ClientEarth. It's a free online event though museum donations are welcome.
MEXICAN WAVES
Brian's Condenser lightbox and his first outdoor sculpture (Sing Tree) are on display at the Museo Marco in Monterrey, Mexico until April 2021.
- Virtual tour – turn right to see/hear the lightbox, then go outside and turn right again to see (though not hear) Sing Tree.

ZOOM BOOM
Brian has continued to participate in Zoom and audio conversations, sometimes to promote Film Music 1976–2020. Not all of these have made it to YouTube, e.g. the Rough Trade/Dice.fm video Q&A with Miranda Sawyer, and a 2-hour discussion with architecture students at Archizoom/EPFL during which Brian declined an invitation to dance on camera because he was wearing his pyjama trousers.

SCREEN WITH ENO-VY
Yup, really scraping the barrel with these headlines. It's been a long year. Anyway, Brian spoke about Film Music 1976–2020, and Warp commissioned a video.

ANY OLD ENO
We now go back to the Eighties, as interviews and panels with Brian have been disinterred by Phil South and Other Minds.
REMEMBERING HAROLD BUDD
Harold Budd died in early December. Although he wasn't keen on labels, EnoWeb thinks that Harold was as important to the genre of ambient music as Brian. Many words have been written about him and his unique work; he always came across as totally genuine with a great sense of playfulness. As Matt Smith in a 2011 Independent profile put it, "Sat in the corner of a west London pub, surrounded by empty pint glasses and laughing like a drain, Harold Budd is nothing like you'd anticipate." Some years ago, Opal's Lin Barkass told me (Tom) that the track on The Pearl called "Dark-Eyed Sister" has that title because when Harold met Charmian, sister of Anthea and Dominic Norman-Taylor, he said – and whenever I think of this, my mind's ear can't help hearing it in Harold's voice with a hint of reverb – "You have the darkest eyes of any white chick I've ever seen."
