one of *the best* stores for indie and hard to find imports of anything. huge
used section while still providing the latest. the atmosphere is grungy and the sales
people arent quick to help, but that is part of the whole repo experience!

Relatively small store but with emphasis on quality over quantity. Focus is on
whatever appeals to the University crowd. Alternative, rap, rock, pop, dance. Small but
carefully selected and updated selection of techno and ambient. Great used inventory.
Listening stations. Prices are excellent. Staff knowledgeable and helpful.

Massive store on two floors. The legendary British chain of HMV stores finally
arrives in the City of Brotherly Mug. Spacious high-tech atmosphere, immense selection of
pop, rock, classical, jazz, world music . . . Good selection of techno, ambient, dance,
house, each in its own section. Also check the new age section for ambient (it happens,
sad to say). Listening stations for selected CDs. In-store DJ in his own booth, happy to
take requests for any smoking jammy you dig. Extended evening hours. Almost like a
nightclub. Don't worry, you won't get carded, because you can't drink here. Good selection
of imports (records, not beers or liquor; see above).

Outstanding store for difficult to find CDs. Great selection of imports. Good
selection of techno, ambient, and idm. Upstairs is jazz, downstairs is everything else.
Take the time to look around, and you'll be sure to discover some pleasant surprises.

Tower's selection is amazing, to say the least, but the staff knows little
about anything that isn't in the top 40. They have a whole separate storefront for
classical and a third for books.

Selection is indie with a little jazz, reggae, and dub/triphop.
Also A few zines. The staff at Digital Underground are amazing. I used to ask them
questions, not show up again for six months, and have the clerk remember me and answer the
question.
