8 4 4 Y Y Avg Pretty good selection of cds, not too much imported stuff. I don't think they do mail order, but they might go out of their way to hook you up. You can't listen to unopened cds or vinyl. There are four other stores, one is in Clemson, SC (864) 654-6413, Columbia, SC (803) 798-2606, Greenville, SC (864) 232-1623, Florence, SC (864) 664-9999, and one more (which makes seven stores total) in Wilmington, NC (703) 251-8499.

5 1 N/A Y Y Y Avg A bit pricy if you don't have a membership. The CD selection is decent, but not outstanding. The best thing is that they can get you ANYTHING. You do, however, have to know exactly what you're looking for, because the staff isn't too knowledgable about electronic music. You can pre-listen to any CD, and are under no obligation to buy (even if you had them order it for you). They will order vinyl, but then you must pre-pay. A decent place to listen to music before buying somewhere else for less money. Sometimes you can get lucky in the used section - but not often.

5 5 N/A Y Y Y Lo Papa Jazz is a legendary record store in the Southeastern United States. They have a huge selection of a variety of styles, but I go there to get obscure funk, hip hop, and all jazz. Their electronica section is newly budding, so you won't find a proliferation of 4-4 techno 12"s, but they are getting in a fairly decent variety of electronica and hip hop. (That's why their ratings are 5s, I assume thats for their electronic music section) Cheap prices on all vinyl and used/new cds, especially considering a lot of their stock is hard to find. They do mail ordering also. If you're Columbia for some unfortunate reason, it's the best record store around.

N/A 4 4 Y Avg Well, i can't lie, it's not great, but at least they let you preview some vinyl, and the service is extra friendly. would you expect anything less from such a beautiful state? you're not gonna find that italian made special chrome plated edition of of your favorite band's most obscure record. in fact you probably won't even find your favorite dj's name on their list, but if you're from the south like i am and you don't have major connections up the ass, anywhere you can find records is a haven of bliss. hey, i found adam f's colours and circles, two killa tracks straight outta da jungle.
